Christmas season wreaths honoring Citrus County veterans

Christmas season wreaths honoring Citrus County veterans:

On Friday, December 8, the Citrus County Korean War Veterans Association, in conjunction with the Aaron A. Weaver Chapter 776 Military Order of the Purple Heart, will join with the Inverness Sertoma Club to place Christmas wreaths at the Memorials located on the historic Citrus County Courthouse site in Inverness Florida.

The joint ceremony will take place at 4:30 PM just prior to the annual Inverness ceremony ushering in the Christmas season with entertaining events including tree lighting ceremonies and choral presentations which will commence at 5 PM in and around the Historic Courthouse area.

As many Citrus veterans will be among those attending the “Light Up Inverness” affair, all are encouraged to attend this brief wreath laying ceremony which is dedicated to the memory of those who have honorably served their nation in Christmases past. This event, like the Wreaths Across America Program, is a tribute to the contributions that our veterans have made to ensure our freedom to enjoy and celebrate this most revered holiday – one that brings us together in peace.
